Building tools for thought

Notes on building software, writing tools, and the craft of making things simple. I work on Glifo, a native markdown editor for macOS.

I've spent the last year building a note-taking app because none of the existing ones felt right. Obsidian is powerful but heavy. iA Writer is beautiful but limited. Apple Notes is everywhere but nowhere near enough.

Glifo sits in the middle — fast enough that you forget it's there, capable enough that you don't need anything else. Your notes are markdown files on disk. That's the whole philosophy.

Built on Tauri, React, and Rust — the stack, Glifo gives you a native-feeling editor with Vim bindings done right, embedded drawings, structured search, and one-click publishing — all without leaving your local filesystem.
